I have great news for all of my readers, especially any of my Caswell readers. First I guess I have to update any people who wouldn't know anything about any of this. Here we go.
This summer my mom was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer. The doctors said that she had about a 20% chance to live. That really wasn't good news and we were all kind of freaked out. I was working at a christian summer camp at Fort Caswell when I got the phone call. I was pretty distraught so I did the only thing I could do in a situation like that. I started to pray. I got all 60+ summer staffers together and told them the situation and asked them to call their churches and get them to start praying for my mom. I also had someone make an announcement at Hatch auditorium the next morning to all the campers. There were about 1000+ that week so all their churches were praying for my mom. I also called some of the speakers that spoke at Caswell this summer and asked them to pray and tell their ministries. Anyway the point of telling you all that is to show you that my mom had pretty bad odds, but had a lot of people praying for her.
Now on to the good news. As of two days ago my mom is now 100% free of cancer! All the prayers really helped. I'm not saying that medical science didn't have it's place in this, but I am saying that the prayer of the people of God really helped. My mom was upbeat about the cancer and was really encouraged by all the people she didn't know praying for her. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who was praying for her and congratulations on a job well done.
Well seeing as I am in class I am going to have to end this letter. Also don't be angry that I didn't call some of you personally it is just that its finals week and I'm really bogged down with work. Good luck to all in college finals and thank you agian.
